About
Our organization consists of mainly road team and a minimal mountain team, each having their own race-packed seasons. If you would like more information on riding with us or becoming a racing member, please contact one of our officers found on the Contact page.
The mountain team has races throughout the months of September and October. Because this is so early in the school year, there is not much time for team training; regardless, get in contact with the captain and get ready to have some fun this fall.
The road team will begin training this year sometime in October. Our season begins in early March and runs through the beginning of May, with nationals a few weeks later. Our team has pretty lofty goals for the 2010-2011 season after qualifying 5 riders to head to nationals, so we would love to have as many people come and train with us. Don’t be scared off though, we have a variety of riders at all different levels, from mens/womens A to mens D; its all about having fun. Boston University Cycling has become a force to be reckon with over the past two years and we hope to continue this success. So whether you want to lead the men’s A pack or just go on casual rides with the team and learn how to take your back wheel off, get in contact with us.
The team is a member of the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (ECCC) which extends from Maine to Pennsylvania and Delaware.
The ECCC is governed by the National Collegiate Cycling Association, which is administered by USA Cycling. Our conference is one of eleven conferences across the country that sends its best riders and teams to national competitions. The BU road team has had racers qualify for this national competition every single year for the past eleven years.
We are sponsored through Boston University’s undergraduate student activities office (SAO) and FitRec’s Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (PERD). Special thanks to our advisor Tracey Dultz. We are funded in part by undergraduate student fees as well as our sponsors; please take a look at them so that we can continue to strengthen our team while keep team dues low.
