Hey Everyone,
I would like to thank everyone who turned in their forms. I still need some cap forms from people so please contact me via bike@bu.edu to drop it off.
Clothing Order:
The order should be sent out shortly. We hit a snag with design but everything is coming together nicely. Estimated turn around time is 8-10 weeks so we could have at the start of spring semester but they will definitely be in by race time!!!
Rule Changes:
There have been some rule changes for collegiate cycling. Please read up on these before you potentially go out and waste money. Rule Changes Found Here
Sponsorships:
Bike Shop: TBD - Still working hard on this. The task is not easy
Neuvation: Wheel sponsor. At the next meeting we will go over what we get from them.
Rudy Project: Helmet and Glasses at crazy low prices. Email for this to come. Also we get %40 off everything at e-rudy.com. Email Bike@bu.edu for the BRO
Defeet: Get some really sweet socks, knee warmers and arm warmers at great prices. Email bike@bu.edu for discount code.
GU Energy: More to come later but great deals on GU Products
We are always looking for other sponsors to help out our team. It can be donations or product discounts; we are interested in what you have to offer. Email Bike@bu.edu if you are interested in helping out our team in some way.
ECCC Meeting:
Robert - President and Preston - Treasurer are going to be attending the ECCC Fall Meeting at Stevens College. Should be an interesting event.
Weekend Rides:
Everyone should be trying to come out to the weekend rides. This past weekend we had good turn outs of 10 Saturday and 8 Sunday. The more the merrier people!! When you come out and ride you get stronger. Coming out now puts you that much further ahead later (IE: When racing). It is highly recommended that you attend the rides but they are not mandatory.
That’s all for now.
Keep riding!

Hey Everyone,
So it is that time of year again. Order forms are due on Oct 15th, 2 days away. I know a fit kit was promised and it is on the way. Hopefully it will be here tomorrow. Tentatively, I am planning on having a meeting Thursday from 5 - 9 at FitRec. Come at your convenience to try on the kit, if the fit kit is here. At this meeting I will collect any outstanding forms, any dues owed and all clothing orders. Email bike@bu.edu if you need more time or can not make it then. The plan is to have the order out a.s.a.p.
If the fit kit is not here, I will be in the FitRec Lobby from 5 - 7 collecting forms of people who already know what sizes fit and what they want. The rest I will hold off until then. If you still want to order clothing, email bike@bu.edu either asking for members or non-members form. I will respond a.s.a.p.
There will be an email sent out once any/all plans are finalized so please keep an eye out for that email.
On another note: It would be nice to have as many people as possible come out for the weekend rides. It is not required by any means but if you plan on racing in the spring, it is highly recommended and you will only be better off then.
That’s all for now,
Robert Winnett

Hey Guys,
So it has been brought to my attention that I need to go over some of the rules of pack riding.
Rules:
1.) When riding in a pack, ride two abreast, no more.
2.) When you hear “car back,” get into a single file line. Cars are bigger and drivers are not always nice. Keep that in mind.
3.) Keep the pack together. Riders in the front need to slow down if the group gets strung out. These first rides are about learning and team bonding, there is plenty of time for hammerfests later.
New riders, if are falling behind, fight to keep up. Staying with the group means less work because you are drafting.
NOTE: If you are getting tired, move to the back of the pack and try to stay on. When you get tired, your form is the first thing to go and we want to avoid crashes.
4.) Always use hand signals and call out turns. (Point and yell “Right turn” or “Left Turn” etc)
5.) Point out all holes and when slowing, use hand signals and yell “Slowing” or “Stopping”
6.) If a gap does form, wait at the bottom of the hill, the next turn or intersection. Nothing is worse than getting dropped and not knowing where you are.
7.) Try to have an experienced rider(s) bring up the rear. This lets us know we are all together.
Remember we represent BU and we need to keep our image up at all times.
